Sudden onset of calf pain

66 year old male, Type 1 Diabetes, end stage renal disease on hemodialysis, developed sudden onset of left calf pain. No history of trauma. Ultrasound was negative for DVT. MRI was obtained showing increased signal in the gastrocnemius muscle. Findings are consistent with diabetic muscle infarction.
