Varicocele Embolization in a High School Athlete

17 year old male with 2 years of worsening bilateral testicular pain. Pain worsened during the daytime and with any strenuous activity. In particular the pain was interfering with high school sports. The patient wanted the procedure with the fastest recovery and best outcomes. Data from patients that I have treated show that in over 95% of patients the varicocele is successfully treated when evaluated by ultrasound at 30 days. In the right hands, varicocele embolization is a superior procedure to surgical varicocelectomy.
